                                          Ahmi and Jacob

Hi Everyone,

I have been trying to update the blog. The pictures are still taking forever to load. So, I upload the pictures, and Jacob turns off the computer. It has been going on for two weeks. I finally blocked the computer and tried to distract Jacob. It worked.

We have been pretty busy these past two weeks. The pictures are from Niko's Preschool and Mother's Day. I took a half day and went to Nicholas' school. I missed it last year, and I was so sad. I told my principal in February, that I was taking a half day. I am very glad I went. Nicholas of course was very hyper. Graduation was much better - pictures in the next blog :)

Nicholas is doing well. He is on Summer vacation right now. I reminded him that next year, he would still be in school at this time. My last day is June 5th and I can't wait :) I think I will sign him up for Soccer again in the Fall. I think he wants to do T-Ball again. We will do the second half.

Jacob turned 2 this past Thursday. Not gonna lie - Jacob has been in a mood! I was quite concerned. He just throws these fits and doesn't want anything to do with me, no soothing. I won't go into detail with what we have been dealing with, but his speech frustration and sensory disorder are very active right now.
We also learned that Jacob is not growing. He is actually growing worse than Nicholas. He will have an MRI done on his gland. I did contact neurology and they decided to go ahead and do the brain too. That should be  a fun time. I will make it for a Monday and Tuesday in the Summer. I can't do this alone!

I am glad Summer is coming. I will miss my class though. We had a pretty good year. They weren't my best class, but I bonded with all of them. Not looking forward to the class coming up,  but we will manage. Last year's class prepped me for my challenging classes in the future.

Nicholas and I will try to go on our Summer hikes. I haven't decided if I should bring Jacob. I think he would do OK, but there are some tough parts on the path. I know someone would watch Jacob if we decide to go, but I want to include Jacob into our activities. He is two now :)

Time to make lunch. Have a great weekend, and Happy Memorial Day! Mandy

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

First Hot Dog at a Baseball game

Hi Everyone,

We had such a good time at the Baseball game last Sunday. At first, Nicholas did very well. He sat for a few innings. Then he got to be Nicholas and we had to walk around - A lot!  I told Chris we should take him to an Indians game, and he said no. I don't think he is ready for the big league yet. Jacob was pretty good too. It was a nice afternoon.

Everything else is going OK. I have been really busy. It's wrap up time at both schools. More at Nicholas' school. His last day is this Thursday. There will be tears, I am sure. I went to his Mother's Day Tea this past Thursday. It was very nice. He worked very hard on the pieces and parts. Nicholas was so hyper and didn't listen. I was kind of sad about that. It seems like I am the only one with the kid who can't control himself. Even when I watch him on the weekends, he can't sit still, like he needs to go to the bathroom all the time. If he tests for ADHD - we will probably put him on medicine, but just for school. At home, I will just have to keep him busy.

Jacob has a new sound. He says B. He will go up to Sophie and say "Boo". He also says Bee and Bop / Boops. It is very cute! He has been very tired lately. He has been sleeping pretty good. It might be a growth spurt. He is also very crabby and clingy. He is not sick. He could also be getting new teeth.

Today is Mother's Day. Chris got me flowers and a card. The boys have given me nothing but a hard time this morning. I have been cleaning, and this afternoon all the cooking is up to me. Well, Nicholas needs me.

Have a good week! Mandy

Finally!

Hi!

It might have taken all day, but my pictures finally uploaded. No idea what is going on with the blog. I was going to blog last week, but I thought there were issues with Blogger, so I gave it a week, and the same thing happened this weekend. Then I decided to wait. I wanted to see if the pictures would actually upload and they did. It just took all day.

Last weekend or the weekend before, I can't remember we went outside. It was a beautiful day. I cleaned my car and the boys played. Jacob actually played very well and did not run away. He usually runs away when he is ready to go inside. I took some pictures of Spring making a scene. We love this weather and it has been sticking with us for awhile.

The boys are doing well. We went to a Kindergarten meeting and decided to put Nicholas in Full time. We are afraid he will be bored with another preschool schedule. I think we made the right decision. It will cost us money, but it will be well worth it - I think.

Jacob is doing OK. Going backwards on the speech again. As a neighbor said, who cares? He is healthy and walking. She is right.

Both boys has massive colds. They are better now, but it took awhile to get rid of them. Nicholas also caught a tummy bug. He stopped eating and that is all I will go into.

Today we took the boys to their first baseball game. Pictures to come. Nicholas had a blast! They  both should sleep really well tonight. So should their Mommy!

Have a good week! Mandy

Jacob checking out the kitties - they don't seem to mind

Hi Everyone,

It has been an exciting week! Not really in a good way though. Last Saturday and Sunday, Nicholas woke up with a cough. That Sunday Jacob woke up with a stuffy nose. Our whole week consisted of sick kids. I am glad they got sick at the same time. I really didn't one to get it and then wait for the other to get sick, because what one gets the other follows. Chris took Nicholas to the doctor last Tuesday and said that it was just a cold. Jacob has been wheezing, so I am keeping my eye on it. Nicholas has been complaining about his tummy. Fun times here. Someone mentioned that "Your kids are always sick". 1) I don't really appreciate that comment and 2) No, they are not - we went a few months with nothing. A cold is a cold, and they will be getting them for the rest of their lives :)

Nicholas missed one day of school last week. He was OK with that. It amazes me how much he loves School. Jacob has been doing fine too. We just need to shake the germs. Mommy has not gotten sick and I don't feel anything coming on - that is a good sign!!

We haven't really done much during the past two weekends. I have been Spring cleaning the boys room.  We need to go to the Zoo soon, but I don't know when. I might take them to the playground today, if they feel well enough.
Have a great week!! Mandy

It WAS a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood!

Hi Everyone,

We had one teeny tiny good day last weekend, so I decided to take the boys to the playground. They LOVED it! We go to playgrounds at least twice a week during the Summer, but during the winter, we forget the good times that we have at the playground. I can't wait for this Summer at the playgrounds. Jacob will love it!! I had two very tired boys at the end of the day and bed times were no problem!

It got colder in the middle of the week, but I was able to squeak in one more day to play outside when I came home from School. It was too nice to stay cooped up inside, so I took them outside. I have very active children and they love to go outside and run off some energy. It is pretty funny to watch them run. It is very needed to get the wiggles out of their  bodies. Jacob still needs some discipline though. He loves to run for the street. This is new to me, because Nicholas never did that. We are working on that.

Nicholas is doing good. He is really liking his new glasses, and I don't have to fight too hard for him to wear them. On the weekends, he won't wear them too much, but we are doing a lot better than before. When he wears his glasses, sometimes I can't get him to take them off. He is doing really well with ready. He read the word "ceiling" to me. I was very impressed! He woke up yesterday with a bad cough, but nothing else. He told me his throat hurt when he coughed. Just keeping an eye on it. Surprisingly, I have not made one sick doctor visit all winter with me children - that's impressive!!

Jacob is coming along nicely with his speech. He is making more sounds. He still doesn't understand what we say, and he can't express anything, but we are doing pretty well. If I tell him to say "Mama", he says "DA" or just smiles. He keeps me on my toes all of the time. Loves to turn off the TV, and the microwave. Loves to play with the computer. Jacob also loves to go in the refrigerator and clean it out. Nicholas did the same thing, so that is nothing new for me.

Chris brought home a tummy bug a few weeks ago. Knock on wood, the boys have not gotten it. I hope it stays that way. I had it last week, and finally feeling more like myself. I am very tired. There were two nights I was up past 11:00. I am getting better, just need a nap - which is unlikely :)

Well, I need to put laundry away and do some grades. Plus, I promised Nicholas some computer time. Have a great week!! Mandy

Spring Break!

Hi Everyone,

I knew this week would fly by, and it did! We had a good time this week. I wish we had two weeks instead of one, because I don't think I am ready to go back to school. We are getting closer to the end of the year. I am not sure how I feel about that. I do have an OK class, and from what I see for next year, I really want to enjoy this class! Nicholas is almost done with Preschool and that makes me a little sad too. He is growing up!

We had a good week. We went to the Children's Museum. It was fun. It was very crowded. Both boys enjoy that place so much. We will probably go back in the Summer. Then we went to Lake Farm Park with my mom. We always enjoy the farm. Jacob's favorite animal is there - the cow. Yesterday, I took the boys to the Zoo. Akron Zoo is so much better than the Cleveland Zoo. I had a much better time there than I did at the Cleveland Zoo. The stingray touch tank is back. I touched one :)

Nicholas is wearing his glasses more. He doesn't fight me as much. The doctor said he will see him in 6 months. It is getting better. I am not a big fan of the doctor, but Nicholas likes him. The doctor said to him, "Sit still or I am going to punch you." He was kidding, but Nicholas started saying it at home - sigh.....
Jacob is doing good. He was so cute at speech therapy. He just keeps plugging along.

As I expected, I did not have a break, but that is OK - I guess. I had about two hours to myself for the whole week. I went to lunch with some teacher friends. One day, I will have a day to myself.

Alright, Nicholas wants to use the computer. Have a great week!! Mandy
